Results to be announced Thursday 22th February! All Welcome!

The results of £eith Chooses 23/24 will be announced on Thursday 22nd February, at the Leith Community Centre (cafe area) 6:30pm
All welcome! The results will be posted online immediately following the event, but we are hoping that people will come along in person, please, if you possibly can, especially supporters of applicant groups. We are so pleased to be back ‘live’ after the Covid years, and want to be able to show the Council (who mainly fund £eith Chooses) that there is a local appetite for live community events (not just all online). This will just be a short meeting, but there will be refreshments and chat, so hopefully worthwhile popping in!

Results Night is always a bittersweet occasion as there have to be some groups who are not successful with the funding, while others are happy to hear that they have won a grant. We would like to celebrate EVERYBODY who took part!

Only 3 days left to vote online!

Only 3 more days to go. If you have not yet voted online, please do so before the end (11:59pm) of Monday 5th February! So many brilliant projects, so it’s difficult to choose, as they all need funding. But it’s important that Leithers’ voices are the deciding factor – we really need as many people as possible to vote.

This where to go, to cast your votes  – https://consultationhub.edinburgh.gov.uk/cf/leith-chooses-2024/
PS. you can still vote online (once only) even if you have already voted once in person at the Community Centre.

Get help with planning your application for £eith Chooses 2023/24

Time is passing – applications to £eith Chooses close on 10 October, only a month away…

Please come to a short session on Wednesday 20th September, at Norton Park Conference Centre, to get your £eith Chooses application into gear. The £eith Chooses team will be there to help you.

Please say whether you wish to attend 3-5pm session or 5:30-7:30pm, and sign up by emailing Jade Mooney at leithchooses@edinburgh.gov.uk

We will go through the application form to make sure everything is clear, point out frequently made mistakes, and have plenty of time to answer questions, discuss any points raised, and arrange further support etc. as required. Tea, coffee, biscuits etc. will be available.

Many thanks to Norton Park for hosting.

A Community Conversation – come and join!

3rd May – hold the date! The £eith Chooses team invites you to a Leith community ‘away day’ event (free lunch and refreshments).
This one day event will be a chance to network with other local charities and community groups, and to talk about common goals or potential collaborations for £eithChooses or other grant opportunities. Organisations that have applied to £eith Chooses in the past, or that may consider a future application, are invited, as are groups/individuals interested in integrating into, volunteering and supporting the Leith community.

When: Wednesday, May 3 (10am-4pm)
Where: Norton Park Conference Centre

This is not a drop-in day. Please follow the link below to register for the event:

We hope to have a relaxed and sociable ‘get together’ that may in some part help to replace the much-missed £eithChooses Voting day event, cancelled in recent years due to Covid.

It will also be an opportunity for the £eithChooses steering group and Edinburgh Council to hear from you about whether/how £eithChooses is working for you. We’d love to get feedback on this year’s vote. Your experience and knowledge of the needs of Leith can also feed into next year’s voting themes.

The day is supported by funding from

Short survey, please give us your feedback

Reminder – Please would you be good enough to fill in this very short survey, to give us feedback about your experience of this year’s £eith Chooses? Thank you!

Now is the time to apply to £eith Chooses

You are encouraged to apply to £eith Chooses for a grant of up to £5,000 for your community project (to run from April 2023 to March 2024).
If you want advice on your idea  / application, please come along to talk to us at  McDonald Road Library (Learning Centre, upstairs),  4 – 5pm, Wednesdays the 14th, 21st, and 28th September.

Your project doesn’t need to be complicated. It just needs to be something that can be delivered within 12 months, that will help/support/protect vulnerable folk in Leith.

You need to be a constituted group with a bank account, or your smaller group could partner with such a group.

The people of Leith will vote in January 2023 on all the proposed projects, and the projects that gain the most votes will be awarded the funding.

Download your application form here  https://www.leithchooses.net/applications-needed-asap .
