The window for applications is now closed

The deadline is now past for applications for £eith Chooses, and no more applications can be accepted for 2022/2023. Thank you to all who have sent in applications.

We are now at the stage of verifying the details of each, in order to conform with City of Edinburgh Council regulations re financial management.

The next step is that applicants will receive communication about the status of their application.

And later, voters will receive information about the projects they can vote for, after the New Year.

Phew! An extra 2 weeks to get your application in!

Due to the unexpected recent break in working patterns, for the Queen’s funeral events, we have extended the deadline for applications to £eith Chooses.

Please get your Application Form completed and in ASAP or at the very latest by 14th October 2022

Your project doesn’t need to be complicated. It needs to be deliverable in 12 months or less, and to offer clear benefits to members of the Leith community, especially some of our most vulnerable.

If you want to be part of £eith Chooses in voting fortnight January 2023, you need to send your project outline in NEXT WEEK or as soon as humanly possible after that  –  a wee extension may be offered, thanks to the unexpected recent break in working patterns, for the Queen’s funeral events

£eith Chooses 2022-2023 is open to applications right now.  We have just had lovely news of a donation of £5,000 from Trams to Newhaven.  Thank you TtN!

Taken alongside the Council Community Grants and the donation of £3,000 from Port of Leith Housing Association, this brings the total grant pot up to £54,102, which means that more projects can be funded.

Now is the time to apply to £eith Chooses

You are encouraged to apply to £eith Chooses for a grant of up to £5,000 for your community project (to run from April 2023 to March 2024).
If you want advice on your idea  / application, please come along to talk to us at  McDonald Road Library (Learning Centre, upstairs),  4 – 5pm, Wednesdays the 14th, 21st, and 28th September.

Your project doesn’t need to be complicated. It just needs to be something that can be delivered within 12 months, that will help/support/protect vulnerable folk in Leith.

You need to be a constituted group with a bank account, or your smaller group could partner with such a group.

The people of Leith will vote in January 2023 on all the proposed projects, and the projects that gain the most votes will be awarded the funding.

Why so early this year? We know from feedback from applicants in the past that it can be an uncomfortable struggle to be finishing off an application at the tail end of the year, just as Christmas is approaching, so moving everything a bit earlier is an attempt to remove that barrier. Voting will be in January 2023.

A new donation to £eith Chooses – thank you Port of Leith Housing Association!

£eith Chooses 2022-2023 opened this week and the best news possible just came in a day later – a very generous donation of £3,000 from Port of Leith Housing Association. Thank you PoLHA!
   
This new donation bumps the grant pot up to a total of £49,102, which means that more projects can be funded.
