Small Grants

SMALL GRANTS (UP TO £500), are for NEIGHBOURLINESS AND BUILDING COMMUNITY SPIRIT
Applicants should propose small scale (even one-off) projects or activities aiming to make life better for neighbours and the local community.
Imagination and kindness are needed!
Really, the only limit is your own imagination. But a project does need to be ‘do-able’ – by you!

For example;  organise a social event with or for a vulnerable or isolated group within the local community; organise a class/training course, talk, or get-together; make music together; hold a ‘board games’ night for neighbours’ families; set up ‘swap shop’ event for free exchange of clothes, bags, scarves, books etc.; make anti-flea medication for pets and poo bags available free to struggling households; make or buy a bench for a public place; set up a ‘little local library’;  etc.

Acts of kindness – garden(s) clean up, repairs or room redecoration for elderly person; organise a trip out to a show or a meal in a restaurant; support a ‘Pay it Forward’ scheme in local cafe; organise help with shopping or dog-walking for people who are poorly; drive or accompany pensioners to hospital appointments; set up a local collection point for donations to charity shops or foodbank, and deliver collected goods; offer a service free to local pensioners or homeless folk.

Team work – set up sharing schemes such as dog walking; get together to repair or repaint a local eyesore; involve local children in planting some seeds / greenery for public enjoyment etc.
