Am I eligible to vote?
If you are 8 years old or over, and you live, work, study or volunteer in Leith, you can vote. You are asked to provide name, address and postcode and these will be checked against the map below. (anything within the black line is defined as ‘Leith’ for this event. You can view an ‘expandable’ map here )
How do I Vote?
Now that the in-person voting day is over, online voting is the main way. But if you are not comfortable with that, please come to a library and we will help you to vote in-person.
You can vote online, from 3rd-17th March.
You can browse the projects online, but in order to actually vote, you need to log in with a unique voter ‘Access Code’. We are still getting this set up (delayed due to snow closures) but any minute now you will be able to get a card with a unique Access Code on it, from the Leith Library or the MacDonald Road Library.
We are also holding specific Voter Support Sessions
Week beginning 5th March 2018, voter support sessions will be held as follows:
Mondays: Leith Library, Ferry Road, 12-2 pm and 5-7 pm
Tuesdays; MacDonald Road Library, 12-2 pm and 5-7 pm
Wednesdays; Leith Community Centre, 12-8 pm (Cafe)
Friday and Weekend – out and about around Leith (details later)
If you can’t get hold of an Access Code that way, you can email in and ask for an Access Code. The email address will function in Council office working hours, and there is quite a demand, so your code will not come back to you immediately, but hopeflly within 24 hours.
Can we help you?
If you can’t easily vote online for whatever reason, we are very happy to do whatever we can to help you to vote. Please get in touch as soon as possible, explain your situation and we’ll try and find a solution. You are most welcome to email with any queries you may have: email@example.com
Or please leave a ‘Comment’ here.
How many votes do we get?
You will vote three times – once each for the three different grant pots; small, medium and large. (The small, medium and large projects are grouped together in three separate ‘pots’.) You will cast four votes per pot, so you get 12 votes altogether. You can only vote once for any one particular project.
When will we know which projects have been successful?
The results will be announced shortly after online voting closes, in the week beginning 20 March.
